GBAC STAR® Registered Programs & Technology

GBAC now offers manufacturers and other companies the opportunity to have their programs or technologies that support a high-performance cleaning and maintenance regimen achieve the GBAC® STAR Registered Seal. The successful registration provides assurance to customers and manufacturers/companies, that the program or technology has been assessed by the GBAC Advisory Council Scientific Board for scientific validity, usability, practicality, safety, and effectiveness related to claimed uses.

Who is eligible to become a GBAC STAR Registered Technology or Registered Program?

To be eligible as a GBAC STAR Registered Technology, an application must include a list of claims and problem statements the offering is addressing, evidence that the offering will make an effective contribution in support of a hygienic indoor environment and demonstrate advantage over existing offerings in terms of the program’s or technology’s claimed effectiveness, significant cost savings that may result from its use,  and the health and safety of the person using the program or technology in the field.

 To be eligible as a GBAC® STAR Registered Technology, an application must include a list of claims and problem statements the offering is addressing, evidence that the offering will make an effective contribution in support of a hygienic indoor environment and demonstrate advantage over existing offerings in terms of the program’s or technology’s claimed effectiveness, significant cost savings that may result from its use, and the health and safety of the person using the program or technology in the field. The program must include supporting evidence that:

  • The program or technology performs as claimed;
  • The program will contribute to a high-performance cleaning regimen that maintains a hygienic indoor environment
  • The program or technology has advantages over existing offerings in terms of the program’s or technology’s claimed effectiveness or significant cost savings that may result from its use.

What does it mean to be a GBAC STAR Registered Technology or Registered Program?

Successful GBAC STAR Registrations provide assurance to customers and manufacturers, that the registered program or technology has been assessed by the GBAC Advisory Council Scientific Board for scientific validity, usability, practicality, safety, and effectiveness for its claimed uses.

Companies that have achieved registration for their technology or program will be able to use the GBAC STAR Registered Seal on the product or program documentation.

The GBAC Advisory Council Scientific Board will assess:

  1. Scientific validity and efficacy and the program or technology’s claimed effectiveness
  2. Safety and compliance with existing and applicable standards and guidelines
  3. Usability, practicality, implementation, and training
  4. Environmental compatibility and sustainability
  5. Marketing language and claims

Being a GBAC STAR Registered Technology* or Registered Program provides a compliance path to become GBAC STAR accredited.

  • 5+ Items: $2,625 per item

Non-Members

  • 1 Item: $5,000
