GBAC Consulting Services

Prepare— Respond—Recover

The Global Biorisk Advisory Council ® (GBAC), a division of ISSA, can help your company
or organization prepare for, respond to and recover from situations involving
biohazardous-infectious agents.

GBAC is composed of international leaders in the area of microbial-pathogenic threat analysis and mitigation. GBAC’s Scientific Advisory Board and GBAC consultants collectively have hundreds of years of experience including development of formal training programs and custom consulting projects.

Adopting Biorisk Standards

GBAC board members have helped write many international standards and guidelines for biorisk management, including the new ISO 35001:2019: Biorisk management for laboratories and other related organisations.

Readiness and Resilience Assessments

We work with all types of organizations, large and small, on pandemic preparedness and resilience plans, including how employees should correctly don, doff and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

The GBAC team is well-equipped to provide training and readiness assessments for companies, health care entities, schools, assisted care facilities, veterinary clinics, event facilities and many other commercial and institutional organizations.

Forensic Restoration, Forensic Cleaning and Professional Disinfecting

GBAC provides specialized training in forensic restoration, including three levels of professional certification:

Forensic Restoration Technician TM
Certified Forensic Operator®
Certified Bio-Forensic Restoration Specialist®

The GBAC team is also available for consulting on how to properly disinfect high-traffic public spaces like airports/airplanes, trains
and transportation terminals.

Custom Training and Consulting Services

We can tailor our expert training to your organization’s needs. For example, GBAC consultants have been on the front lines during international outbreaks of serious illnesses, such as the 2014-15 Ebola outbreak, the 2003 SARS outbreak, Zika, H1N1, the current SARS-CoV-19 (Wuhan Coronavirus) outbreak and more. The team has trained journalists on how to protect themselves and their equipment when covering an outbreak.

GBAC also provides consulting on situations that impact individual health and safety such as crime/trauma scene response and remediation of hoarding and other unsanitary conditions.
